Bangladesh will be connected to the long-awaited second submarine cable from September 10. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the SEA-ME-WE 5 from Ganabhaban on Sunday.
Md Monwar Hossain, managing director of Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited (BSCCL) told the Bangla Tribune that all necessary preparations have been completed. During the inauguration, he will be at the cable landing station n Kuakata.
Monwar said: “On the day of inauguration, we will get a 200Gbps bandwidth which will gradually rise to 1500Gbps.”
