StrataNet Signs with NTT Ltd. for Trans-Pacific Connectivity

NTT Press ReleaseHong Kong – Stratanet a wholesale telecommunications infrastructure company with a high capacity, submarine cable network throughout Asia and across the Pacific has signed an multi-year contract with NTT Ltd. to provide Japan to USA connectivity.
NTT Ltd. is a world-leading global technology services provider with a global network of telecommunications infrastructure spanning tier-1 public and private networks that reach over 190 countries/regions, and more than 450,000m2 of the world's most advanced data center facilities.
The capacity contract will support immediate Stratanet customer requirements leveraging the Unity submarine cable system between Chikura in Japan and Redondo Beach in California.
According to Chris Wilson, CEO of StrataNet, “This initial contract establishes a strong platform to expand our strategic relationship with NTT Ltd. and enable greater access to NTT Ltd.’s vast infrastructure and services base to improve the services Stratanet can offer its customers”.
“In the past 12 months, we have seen increased requirements for capacity between Japan and USA from our customer base and with several new cable system builds being delayed we anticipate this demand to continue”
“Stratanet’s unique commercial model provides significant benefit to cable operators looking for an alternate way to monetize their previous investment. Selected operators around the globe are being extended the opportunity to monetize large amounts of available inventory and participate with Stratanet as a strategic partner”
As services are activated under this initial IRU agreement he parties will work toward formalizing a strategic partnership agreement to better serve their respective customer base and optimize subsea cable sales activity across the region.
