Welcome to this tutorial on how to use the SubTel Cable Map. My name is Kieran Clark, Lead Analyst at SubTel Forum, and by the end of this tutorial, you will have learned about the utility provided by the various Control Buttons on the map.
Zoom Slider
Click the zoom slider button to zoom in or out on the map.
You may also use your mouse wheel to zoom in and out.
Home Button
Clicking the Home Button resets the map to its default zoom level and map view.
My Location
Clicking the My Location Button zooms the map to your current location.
You must allow the app permission to access your location through the pop up that appears in your browser.
Overview Button
Use this tool to quickly pan to parts of the map.
Click the expansion arrow in the upper-right corner of the map to expand or collapse the tool.
When expanded, click the maximize icon to temporarily maximize the overview map for quick access to faraway areas of interest.
To exit the temporary view, click the maximize icon again or drag the gray rectangle to your destination and release.
Coordinates Tool
Click the Coordinates Tool in the bottom-left corner of the map to enable display of map coordinates wherever the mouse is clicked
You can then click the map add a point to the map, highlight the coordinates, and make a copy of the coordinates.
Clicking the Coordinates Tool again resets the functionality to show the coordinates where your mouse is currently hovering over.
Scale Bar
The Scale Bar in the bottom-left corner of the map updates dynamically whenever the map scale changes as you zoom in and out while using the map.
