VietNamNet Bridge – The repair of the Asia Pacific Gateway (AAG) submarine cable network will be completed by 7pm on May 10,  and internet connections will resume completely, according to AAG operator.

The operator has revealed the repair schedule of the cable, which had an unexpected cut on April 23.

It is expected that at 2pm on May 5, the repair ship will arrive at the broken point to start welding at 2pm on May 7. The first welding point will be finished at 6am on May 8 and by 3pm on May 9 the last welding point will be completed. By 7pm on May 10, the cable network will resume normal operations.

The Asia-American Gateway (AAG) submarine cable was cut again on the morning of April 23. The breakdown is located in SH1 segment, about 300km offshore Vung Tau, which is a turn from the international line via Hong Kong (China) to Ho Chi Minh City.

The incident will affect internet bandwidth from Vietnam to international destinations.

Viettel, FPT and VNPT have taken some measures to restrict effects on Internet users in Vietnam.
