APTelecom, a facilities-based telecom consulting and service company specializing in emerging markets, completed the first of its ‘State of Subsea' expert events on October 1st at the Windham Downtown Dream Hotel in New York City.
The event generated overwhelmingly positive reviews from the hundreds of people whom attended from across the globe, both in-person as well as online via live streaming video courtesy of SubTel Forum. The streaming video broadcast was the first-of-its kind and had previously never been done before at a subsea industry event. The online audience was engaged and actively participated in a series of Q&A sessions via APTelecom's live Twitter feed.
‘State of Subsea' featured an eclectic mix of executives, influencers, and leaders from all walks of the submarine cable and telecom industry to address the latest trends, and share expert insights and knowledge on the future of the subsea industry. The event was highlighted by a range of special breakout panels with industry experts, moderated Q&A sessions with attendees, informational exchanges on recently built and anticipated submarine cable routes, roundtable discussions on emerging global economic market trends, and more.
Hosted by APTelecom Co-Founders Eric Handa and Sean Bergin, guest speakers and presenters at the ‘State of Subsea' event included: Peter McGrath, CEO of Nextgen Group; Dave Robles, Managing Director of Americas Sales at TE Subcom; Tom Soja, Vice President of Ocean Specialists, Inc.
“We were very satisfied with our participation in APTelecom's ‘State of Subsea' event,” said Tom Soja, Vice President at Ocean Specialists, Inc., and featured guest speaker at the ‘State of Subsea' event. “The event proved to be extremely productive, bringing together several experts and decision makers from across the subsea cable industry, not only to discuss business deals, but also to share viewpoints and insights on our industry as we head into the final stretch of 2013.”
The official media partners of the event were SubTel Forum and Telecom Review North America. The event was attended by dozens of senior level executives from the subsea cable industry, including carriers, consultants and content companies, and also included top-tier press attendees from the Wall Street Journal, among other outlets.
An archived video broadcast of the event is available for viewing on SubTel Forum's official YouTube channel athttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=suC7b3XoSXw.
