SubTel Forum Releases 58th Edition of the Submarine Cable Almanac

Sterling, Virginia – Submarine Telecoms Forum, Inc. is pleased to announce the release of the 58th edition of the Submarine Cable Almanac, a trusted industry reference for current and planned submarine cable systems worldwide.

Since its launch as a quarterly publication in 2011, the Almanac has grown into a comprehensive data resource relied upon by operators, suppliers, investors, analysts and policymakers. Issue 58 provides a consolidated snapshot of more than 500 domestic and international submarine cable systems, bringing together system status, ownership, landing points, routes, capacity, technical specifications and operational timelines.

The 519-page edition adds seven systems and updates fourteen existing systems. It reflects SubTel Forum's continuing work to track project announcements, construction milestones, route modifications, ownership developments and changes in technical specifications. Organized by system status, the edition gives readers a structured view of in-service infrastructure and planned network development across established and emerging markets.

The Submarine Cable Almanac is developed by SubTel Forum's analysts through continuous monitoring of public disclosures and industry-sourced information. Each edition consolidates verified system data and presents planned and in-service projects using consistent classifications designed to support comparison across regions and lifecycle stages.

The database tracks available details including ownership, landing points, design capacity, fiber pairs, system length, ready-for-service dates, suppliers, installers and project cost. System mapping and geospatial analysis are produced using ArcGIS Pro, consistent with the cartographic standards of SubTel Forum's Submarine Cables of the World map series.
