Maintenance Work of SEA-ME-WE 4 Suspended

The maintenance work of the country’s first submarine cable, SEA-ME-WE 4, has been suspended, said a press release issued by the Bangladesh Submarine Cables PLC on Thursday.

The consortium took over the maintenance activities on March 2 at the Singapore end of the SEA-ME-WE 4 cable system installed at Cox’s Bazar. However, due to technical faults in the submarine cable systems of other consortiums, the maintenance activities of SEA-ME-WE 4 have been suspended, read the release.

Therefore, all circuits of the BSCPLC will be operational as usual on Saturday.

If the schedule of the maintenance work is rescheduled by the consortium, then the matter will be informed to all concerned, the release said.
