WACS Services Partially Paralyzed For Maintenance

According to a note from Angola Cables to which Angop has got access today, the works will last at noon, and the signal loss will be felt mainly in Angola and in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The WACS connects Cape Town (South Africa) and London (UK), and as the work progresses, some restrictions will be recorded on services running under that system, provided to the Angolan and DRC markets, the main ones affected by these limitations.
According to the chairperson of the Angola Cables Executive Council, António Nunes, quoted in the document, “this type of corrective and preventive maintenance are common, whenever necessary to keep the systems operational and with the best performance.
In this case, he added, this corrective intervention will be carried out in the DRC, which will require a partial stoppage of some services, which will be noted above all in Angola and DRC.
