PNG DataCo Cable Fault Update 4

Following our close and continuous engagement with our Submarine Cable Maintenance partners, we have now managed to secure and schedule the repair vessels to arrive in country in mid-October 2022 to carry out the repair work on the multiple cable breakages in Madang. It is important to understand that these limited vessels are currently being engaged elsewhere on other Submarine Cable work within the Asia and South Pacific region hence the delay for them arriving in PNG.
In the meantime, PNG DataCo together with our service partners have temporarily migrated all mission critical or priority serves onto thelimited satellite capacity in the affected regions. Work is progressing to rationalize and migrate other remaining services as we await the arrival of these repair vessels.
DataCo singerely apologies again to customers and the general public in Momase, Highlands and the New Guinea Islands regions for the outage and the degraded user experience due to the limited satellite capacity being used during the outage period.
