The Didon undersea cable linking Mazzara Del Vallo, Italy, and Kelibia, Tuinsia, entered into service on 18 September, Agence Ecofin reports. Launched last year, the 170 km cable has a 18 Tbps theoretical bandwidth and cost around EUR 8 million to build. It was deployed by Alcatel Lucent Submarine Networks on behalf of Ooredoo Tunisia an Orange Tunisia.
