Bali – At the end of 2021, Telkominfra Submarine Business has succeeded in connecting the submarine cable from Mandalika (Lombok) to Sanur (Bali) which was completed on December 2, 2021. The 146KM long sea cable work was carried out with the Pacific Cableship Guardians.
The completion of the Mandalika – Sanur submarine cable was witnessed by the President Director of Telkominfra Bastian Sembiring, VP. Submarine Implementation & Operation Telkominfra Nato Joko and Director of Network & IT Solution Telkom Herlan Wijanarko, EGM Service Operation Division Telkom Akhmad Ludfy, EGM Digital Infrastructure Development Division Telkom Lukman Hakim and VP Integrated Infra Program & Budget Management Telkom M. Amperandus Simanjuntak.
This deployment is in line with the bandwidth requirements for the Lombok Mandalika, Sanur and Nusa Penida areas. There were many challenges and obstacles that the Telkominfra team faced in this deployment, including the weather in the waters in the Balom area such as strong currents and high waves at sea which impacted the operational activities of Submarine Cable Services, such as marine surveys to the cable deployment.
The obstacles faced by Telkominfra, especially the Submarine Business, are very difficult and require time to adjust to weather conditions. However, this does not extinguish the spirit of Telkominfra, especially the Submarine Business, which is very dedicated and full of efforts to immediately complete each project and connect each station so that bandwidth needs can be realized, in particular to support and accelerate telecommunication access in Indonesia, especially tourism objects.
