The East African Marine Cable System (TEAMS) has confirmed that it is currently experiencing a major service interruption cutting off the bulk of internet access and international voice traffic to customers in the East African region.
The interruption which began at approximately 13:30hrs (1030GMT) was noticed by the network maintenance centre at the TEAMS landing station in Mombasa who immediately commenced the traffic rerouting and fault tracing exercise.
