The Chinese, Russian, Indian, South African and Brazilian governments have thrown their weight behind a new R3-billion submarine cable according to iAfrica.com.  The South Atlantic Express (SAex) cable system will boast a 12.8 Tbit/s capacity, TechCentralexclusively revealed, connecting South Africa and Angola with Brazil.

The new project, led by eFive Telecoms, will provide the fastest route to the United States, with other cables linking to Europe first.
